Safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a child Protection Policy and Procedures in place. At the heart of this is the belief that all people in the school community have a responsibility to act on any concerns they have about a child's wellbeing.

What keeps us safe?

At St Stephen's Infant School we talk about how to stay safe and our first school value is:

" Safe & Secure"

  • Rules keep us safe as they help us to look after each other.
  • Adults in school keep us safe and they are outside at playtime and lunchtime.
  • Gates and fences make sure people can't come in.
  • Fire practices make sure we know what to do in an emergency.
  • Anti-bullying week reminds us how to be kind.
  • An adult is always available to do first aid.
  • Staff and visitors have to sign in and wear badges.
  • We talk about what it means to be safe and secure.
